Most of mine are crew neck, with a range of thickness and materials: cotton, merino wool, lambswool, through to chunky cable knit.
A special treat is cashmere, worn next to the skin - the effect on the nipples is evident.

Cashmere can be hard to find and expensive to. I never had a cashmere sweater before. I always wanted to try one on and see if I would like it or not

Cashmere is less expensive when bought from the factory shop, rather than in the West End of London.
There are several manufacturers in Scotland.
I have bought from "Johnstons of Elgin" by mail order.
A favourite was a tiny strappy camisole (vest-style) top in black cashmere, perfect under a jacket, with the effect already mentioned !
