What posesses some old men to wear long sleeved button down shirts when it's warm out?

Long sleeve shirt tucked in of course with a belt and long trousers on. It's in the mid 50s here currently but later this week it will be nearing 80. I don't get it truly.

Now give us a convincing reason why we older (i.e. >50yo) men must not wear long-sleeved shirts tidily tucked into long trousers.
