Slow fashion - what women's fashion industry tries to suppress

Slow fashion - Put simply, slow fashion is the opposite of fast fashion. It encompasses an awareness and approach to fashion that considers the processes and resources required to make clothing. It advocates for buying better-quality garments that will last longer, and values fair treatment of people, animals, and the planet along the way.

Realistically, slow fashion and sustainable or ethical fashion have a lot of similarities. They are sister movements and follow the same general guidelines. The main difference with slow fashion is that it hones in on reducing consumption and production more specifically.

Pop culture propaganda aimed at women telling them that they can't be seen wearing the same thing twice went on for decades. If it's possible then there would need to be a strategy of deprogramming women who can afford to squander large amounts of their discretionary income on garments they wear only a few times then donate to thrift stores.

Spending very little on clothing is good. You have a smallish staple wardrobe and the rest is superfluous

Wearing your big sisters hand me downs from two generations ago.

Thrift stores rock! If something is out of style just call it retro.
