UK Vogue magazine September is devoted to activism, with an apparent disproportionate emphasis? Challenging?

I don't know this (not a woman, not into woman's fashion, etc.) but does Vogue really matter to anyone besides who's on he cover or who's in it? Again, not picking on you or that whole "ilk" of people who live and die by it but honest, has the world ever been made a better place because of Anna Wintour? Most of the people who shell out 10.00 for it - she wouldn't even give you the time of day. I guess I'm just curious what the attraction still is?....
