Do you ever dress up to go out on dates or fancy social functions through work etc.?

Curious about whether any of you dress up for dates or for fancy social or work functions?

I'm not much into dating at present but with work functions we're expected to make an effort because we're representing the business.
It’s one thing to look nice on a date and another to look professional for work, so I don’t believe it’s really a fair comparison. I have expensive dresses I wear for work functions that I would never wear on a date. Rule of thumb is dress according to the occasion.

@butterflybaby75 What's wrong with dressing up elegantly?

@Mugin16 There's a fine line between being actually elegant, and looking like a hollywood actress for all intents and purposes flaunting her body to the waiting media throng. ;-)

I love dressing up and do so often.

@silkydrawers Do any men do it (get 'dolled up' in man-equivalent style) to go out? Only ever seem to see that happen for horse racing days, otherwise 'dressing up' means formal business attire to guys.

If my workplace had more functions like that I would in a flash! Every one here wear the same so it would make a nice change anyway.

I don’t date. A special occasion for me is going to work on a weekend day to work the dogs at my kennel lol.

I love wearing a nice dress and going out with my partner. I also like dressing smartly for the occasion.

Quite often, but again my wife normally lays my clothes out

It's de rigueur for black tie occasions.
