How much longer will the slashed-shredded jeans stay in style?

This morning after coming back from shopping I saw an older teen standing outside in 33 F. Degree weather, drizzling rain & windy...she was wearing slashed jeans, no coat and had a fleece blanket wrapped behind her to help keep her warm...the front of her legs had no blanket over it...I imagine she was freezing....those jeans are not practical in winter.

The younger generation still wear them at work, even though they are not suppose to. It's kooler in their view.

At work, you need to think about protection, not being kool looking. Holly jeans do not protect from hot sparks and sharp objects. Guys with their saggy jeans on, put a belt on for Pete's sake. If that doesn't work, wear suspenders. Girls with their skin tight tops on that show off their belly, goes against the safe dressing code.

@stormwatcher a lot of places have dress codes prohibiting those types of jeans. I’ve seen people wearing them with the whole front thigh exposed. Geez it never ends.

@cherokeepatti - When my jeans ware a hole through, I have them patched with another old pair of patched jeans. So I can get as much mileage out of my jeans. I spend between $11.99 to $19.99 for jeans, so I like to get every cent out of them.

@stormwatcher I have a heavy-duty Pfaff sewing machine made in 1948 and a newer one made in 1952 and have done that many times.

@cherokeepatti - My aunt enjoys doing it & insists I let her. So... I do. But I think she does it the old fashion way - hand sewing.

@stormwatcher It hurts my fingers to sew denim on top of denim especially if it’s the old heavy type denim.
