How much longer will the slashed-shredded jeans stay in style?

This morning after coming back from shopping I saw an older teen standing outside in 33 F. Degree weather, drizzling rain & windy...she was wearing slashed jeans, no coat and had a fleece blanket wrapped behind her to help keep her warm...the front of her legs had no blanket over it...I imagine she was freezing....those jeans are not practical in winter.

I can never understand them either. ....or those jeans that hang down to the bottom of their backside.

I saw some on a barely walking toddler out and about the other day. It boggled my mind.

I like them on other people. They allow me to easily identify the gullible.

The younger generation still wear them at work, even though they are not suppose to. It's kooler in their view.

At work, you need to think about protection, not being kool looking. Holly jeans do not protect from hot sparks and sharp objects. Guys with their saggy jeans on, put a belt on for Pete's sake. If that doesn't work, wear suspenders. Girls with their skin tight tops on that show off their belly, goes against the safe dressing code.

@stormwatcher I have a heavy-duty Pfaff sewing machine made in 1948 and a newer one made in 1952 and have done that many times.

@cherokeepatti - My aunt enjoys doing it & insists I let her. So... I do. But I think she does it the old fashion way - hand sewing.

@stormwatcher It hurts my fingers to sew denim on top of denim especially if it’s the old heavy type denim.

I didn't even know that those jeans are still in style..
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Tobasco When I first saw them I thought that they were a fad and would be out of style within 2 years but boy I was wrong about that. And have been told some of the brands are really expensive...like $100 or so...wow.

@cherokeepatti yeah, WOW

I think they’re ugly, anyway. I wish the “slob” fad in fashion in general would hurry up and end.
I wish the fad would end already...They remind me of boys play clothes, ripped and raggy.

Forever...because irw sometimes they simply become unraveled

About 5 minutes. Give or take.

Hasn't it been a thing since the 80s...
Azlotto · M
I you have any, just keep them. They'll be back in style in about 15 to 20 years.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Azlotto I have jeans older than most of the members of SW. No slashed ones though.
Azlotto · M
@cherokeepatti So do I, but the holes came from wear and tear.
