How would you define “business casual?”

For men, it seems so straightforward. Polo shirt, khakis, and bam - there’s your business casual.
But what does it mean for women? I usually dress nice, but I don’t know if it really falls into the business casual category.
I know I’m provably overthinking it, and it’s not like I haven’t had to “dress up” before, but I’m curious what someone else’s take is. I’ve googled it, but I usually just leave even more confused, haha.
I’m an English education major, and for the next eight weeks or so I’m going to a nearby high school to observe and teach a bit. We were told to dress business casual, but the details weren’t great - all she said was not to be too revealing or wear jeans.
Again, I’m probably overthinking it, but it wouldn’t hurt to get some advice. I never wear t-shirts, sweatpants, etc, anyway, so I shouldn’t look too bad regardless haha.

Business casual for a woman usually means pants (not jeans) and a casual top or sweater.
