Today's escapade is a perfect example of why I only trust MY jeweler.

I don't have patience for people's opportunistic tendencies when it comes to situations where lots of money is involved. My guy at Windy City Jewelers is the only one I trust, just like I only buy metals and gemstones from my specific guy at the Chicago Landmark Diamond Exchange.

@MethDozer Which is why I have people I can trust to give me the right prices and sell me what I actually want. I'm having a ring cast in silver, it's a cool ring that I found at a music fest a few years back, it was ten bucks and made out of copper with a fake pearl in it. And despite how neat of a ring it is, it's super cheap looking, so I'm having it remade in sterling silver and replacing the fake pearl with an emerald.
