A couple of times Chris and I have, I guess, "Groomed" a couple of girls into our lifestyle? Not in the bad Epstein way. The first was a lifelong friend of mine and the second was a girl we met at our favorite club. Both moved in with us and became a 3rd person in the relationship for a time.
The 3rd wheel has to add something. Sometimes that can just be the newness of a 3rd person there, but when this relationship is really born of attraction and sex it needs to be something more physical. Attributes or abilities.
The first was truly enamored with me and wanted us to "Train" her (or parts of her) for certain things to more or less be ME. The second I think was the first time I had a crush on a woman. She was so hot, beautiful, sexy. Younger, thinner, hotter than me with believe it or not BIGGER tits!!! I let her do anything she wanted to ME! That's what her thing really was.
So, never expect it to be permanent, realize what the 3rd person brings to the table and have serious conversations about every aspect of it and it can be a wonderful experience!

@DianaSQ can you say there's honestly no jealousy between you and your partner? I'd be worried that, after the thrills of a threesome or foursome, that anxiety might kick in and I'd wonder if my partner had enjoyed sex more with the other guy than with me - did he somehow give her more satisfaction? I'd think that would be a natural anxiety in such situations. Do you really not feel that jealousy afterwards?

@DianaSQ okay, I understand. Thank you for your honesty. A guy at work once tried to get me involved with him and his wife, but it really wasn't her thing. It wasn't me that put her off, she just wanted to be monogamous with him. I told him he was making a big mistake if he pursued a MMF threesome as it'd wreck his marriage. I don't know if he ever did continue trying.

In my relationship earlier on we had a poly relationship, we have tried it with two different women one of which lived with us and we tried it with a man. The poly didn’t work for us with either. So now we are emotionally monogamous with each other but sexually our relationship is open.
