I Won't Lie To Kids About Santa Clause

...But I will let them believe in him as much as they choose to. I remember my Santa Claus memories like it was yesterday and it's something that's very fun to a child. I've come up with the letter I am going to write to my child, when it comes time that they realize or ask me about Santa Claus.

My love, you asked me a very good question recently. Is Santa Claus real? I know that you really want to know the answer and looking into your eyes I know it is time that I tell you.
The answer is yes. Santa is real. Just not in the way you have always believed.
I am not Santa, and there is no, one, real Santa either. Santa is bigger than any one person, and his work has gone on longer than any of us have lived. Santa Claus is lots and lots of people who keep the spirit of Christmas alive. He doesn’t live in the North Pole, he lives in our hearts. Santa is the magic, the love, and the spirit of giving to others.
What Santa Claus does is very simple, but it also very powerful. The reason why it’s important for children to believe in Santa is because it teaches us to believe in things we cannot see, or touch. Throughout your life you will need this ability to believe; in yourself, in your family, friends and most importantly, in God.
I am the person who has read your letters, picked your presents, wrapped them up with love and care and placed them under the tree. I do this with you as I hope you will do with your own children one day.
I know this may make you feel a little bit of sadness, to lose some of the magic you once believed now that you know the secret, but the truth is my love, now you just know a different kind of secret, one that I hope you will always remember. That Santa Claus is love, hope, magic and happiness.
I do ask of you to help me keep the secret alive for your younger brothers and sisters who still believe in him as a person. A child has to be ready to understand this kind of secret and magic, and now that you know you can help me keep this sweet tradition alive in our family, just as you found joy in believing in Santa as a man I can assure you that you will have the same feeling watching others relish in the belief of that magic.
I love you infinitely.
Love,
Mama.

I wouldn't lie to my kids about god either. Santa is just as real as god. Therefore, if Santa isn't real, god isn't real either.

QED.
