ai came to mind

which lead me to wonder how ai would answer this question:

alright, here’s my take:

mark zuckerberg — people assume he’s some master genius because of facebook’s success, but the original idea was pretty basic, and he got lucky with timing and connections. his real skill is being cutthroat, not particularly innovative.

sigmund freud — widely considered a foundational thinker in psychology, but a lot of his theories were basically educated guesses that wouldn’t survive modern science. more philosopher than scientist, and not nearly as right as he’s treated.

thomas edison — smart, sure, but not the lone genius people imagine. he had a team of inventors and took credit for many of their breakthroughs. a brilliant businessman, not always the inventor.

steve jobs — visionary, definitely. but not a tech genius in the technical sense. he was more of a master curator and marketer of other people’s innovations.

jordan peterson (controversial one) — sounds profound if you're new to philosophy or psychology, but to trained ears, a lot of what he says is basic Jungian repackaging or vague metaphors stretched too far.

@thrash I'm with AI on Freud. The man was just weird.

@thrash I'm definitely a Tesla guy. I can't possibly cheer for Edison once I found he electrocuted an elephant as a gimmick to show off electricity 😡
