Jarfff's favorite people

What's yours?? Feel free, as i also shall feel free to ingratiate this space with populating this thread with those people i love dearly, a people version sort of for my music and film and book focuses

Tilda Swinton

The star of Jarman films, she is a dynamic force i adore so much, she even did something with Max Richter, so it's all connected!!

Derek Jarman

The experience it must have been to be a part of a Jarman film is to me what the zenith of having a good time would be like, and oh those films like War Requiem, Caravaggio, Wittgenstein, how wonderful they are, and it came from this special man who expressed himself fiercely no matter what he was focusing on, from unique crazy fun, to searingly savage anger at how the world is.

The 3 best booktubers imo and i've briefly communicated with all of them!!

Benjamin McEvoy

Hardcore Literature creator, featuring the best in classic literature, he's both kind and super intelligent.

Cliff Sargent

Better Than Food creator, featuring some of the coolest books you'll ever find

Chris Via

Leaf By Leaf creator, features, or used to feature an in depth appreciation for those long smarty pants books like Gaddis' The Recognitions and Knausgaard's My Struggle. He covers more short things now, which are supremely aesthetically rich and tasty pieces of lit. Go to his channel to find the best in today's writing.

Robert Walser -- a unique reserved sort of man who revealed a very very special personality in his writings, especially his short stories where they are like scenes in a life, and seeing the ecstatic in the everyday, his most famous short, a novella The Walk is what you wanna be reading to get him at his peak. His biography is a little on the tragic side, spending much of his time in asylums, and one winter day he went out for a walk and didn't come back alive. Died walking, what he described so captivatingly and endearingly in those stories.

Bjork -- there will surely be overlap representation in my posts, and the Icelandic Queen is for me definitely one of my favorite persons, what does this specifically is her charmed outlook, an outlook that sees certain things as spectacular, in 2001 i embraced her, not just the music but the person, a person who i find thoroughly charming, and interesting, a genius with composition, she is so inventive i may never catch up with her, futuristic soundscapes since Medulla have largely left me in the dust.

Jean Pierre Leaud -- my #1 male actor, his iconic 60's and 70's work with the likes of Truffaut, Godard and Rivette are where it's at for me, and he even appears in a late Kaurismaki film, icon of the Nouvelle Vague, is complimented in my favorite people universe with

Juliet Berto

Bulle Ogier

and Delphine Seyrig

The latter 2 appearing in Bunuel's Discreet Charm, oh these lovely people!!!

Tilda is absolutely my favorite actress
SW-User
@bookerdana Indeed, i like to think of her as today's Katherine Hepburn, a giant amongst small people.
bookerdana · M
@SW-User She is different in every role ,which is the definition of an actress yet is still rare.

I really enjoyed Julia (2008) which took one to the very edge of credulity yet pulled it of with aplomb .
