The media has been silent about this. Very little in the news about The Pit, too.

In my election district, I make my votes on a machine paper ballot, which then gets fed into a computer reader for tabulation.

BUT, the paper ballot is preserved for later hand-count verification if there is any question about the computer tabulation.

That is ABSOLUTELY necessary because it is perfectly obvious that a programmer with inside knowledge of the computerized vote algorithms could make changes in the vote outcome.

It is so easy to cheat an election when the people don't believe cheating is possible. In my riding in Canada the local MP won through cheating twice. Canada has some very stringent laws regarding voting yet the MP won through cheating twice. Once her cheating became known she lost the next election but she was able to do a lot of damage as a cabinet minister during her time in office.

Well the first thing I heard is there was no cheating and this was a fair election. First statement is a lie every election has some cheating meaning I bet the second statement made to support the first must be a lie also.

Damn the computers. Go bad to paper ballots. Last election they put a blank piece of paper into the machine. It was supposed to make a paper copy of my ballot. I got to check my vote on the machine but never saw the blank paper again.
