Slim and slimmer. Modern western culture tells women to wait until they are in their 30s and 40s to have babies. It's doable, sometimes. Biology still says the best time is early 20s. Apparently, fertility starts going down at age 23. Expensive, invasive fertility procedures often don't work. And if you do succeed at 40+, be prepared to be responsible for children well into your 60s, when you might otherwise have wanted to cut back on responsibilities and lessen the workload. Won't happen with teens and 20somethings still around the house.

@graphite You are correct. I feel that in the US and some other western countries we were sold a bill of goods. It was preached to us growing up in the 90s, don't be like previous generations, don't marry young, wait as long as possible to have kids so that you are financially set up.
Well life doesn't work that way. Sometimes while going to get a masters or doctorate or trying to wait to get married until you've paid your house off things don't work out.
I think that because previous generations never had that issue, they never considered that there might be a negative side to their message of female empowerment. I love female empowerment but the message wasn't balanced. Sometimes by late 30s its too hard to concieve. I wanted to marry early but in my area no guys wanted to get married young like I did.

I think there is always a down fall no matter what we choose. @REMsleep
