@itsok If you get one, consider getting him or her a same gender cage mate. They’re happier with other piggies to talk to. ♥️ Guinea pig rescues are at capacity right now just about everywhere, and often adopt them out in bonded pairs.

@QueenOfTheNerds my sister works with a vet, and someone came in to get theirs euthanized because they didn’t want them. She took them, and had the male neutered but the female was already pregnant. She had 5 babies today. So they share a birthday with my dogs 😭

@QueenOfTheNerds I would add as a caveat that male guineas don't get along. Females do, sort of. Ideally, you want a male and a female, but then you have to find a small animal vet to get one or both of them fixed.

@LordShadowfire Males can get along, but if they’re not already bonded, it’s tougher to get them to get along.
