As an owner of fruit farms, I can tell you it is not easy. You are going to need to take account of climate requirements and soil nutrients. Pick a variety that copes already in your environment if you are a beginner and watch few courses on YouTube. They are free.

My neighbours plum tree bore masses of delicious fruit last year, then I noticed I had a couple of saplings growing in my garden from it, I potted one up and took it a lady I work for and I wasn't expecting much but it survived and is sprouting greenery nicely. 🤞🏻

If you're getting a citrus, you'd better check very well what you're getting. There are so many types of them. I'd rather get a regular lemon tree than Meyer because Meyer doesn't have that fragrant zest and zest is the most valuable because all lemons from the stores have it chemically treated.
Mandarin oranges are great too.
Calamondins have very sour fruits but flowers smell heavenly.

I heard that some trees, like the avocado tree, don't actually make fruit indoors? I hope I'm wrong. =3

@Miram a spread from about 7 to 11 years. 6 trees in all. I'll take some more current pics when I get off work

@Nightwings without a doubt start with calamondin! It fruits twice a year so it is easier to learn its habits. Like avocado it does need experience bit of winter but it doesn't require sibling trees or pollination. It needs lot of day light espacially in summer and spring. And let the dirt get dry before you water it again. It is also more affordable and little more patient than other trees as long as you're not neglecting it.

@Miram That basically sounds perfect, thank you so much for the recommendation! I never even heard of this fruit before. It looks beautiful, quite similar to oranges, and the tree itself is gorgeous as well. 💓
