The older my son gets, the harder it is for me to plan his birthday parties. 🥺

I am so happy to watch him growing up and change ❤‍🩹 but at the same time it makes me really sad.

Also this is the first time I am allowing him to invite his classmates. The school rules are if you invite one, you have to invite the whole class to keep things fair. I am so scared, but I want to give him more opportunities for more friendships.

I get depressed on their birthdays 😶 I don’t want them to grow up yet.
Watching them grow is the sweetest kind of heartbreak. You’re doing such a beautiful job letting him become his own little person, even when it’s scary.
Inviting the whole class takes courage man, but it’s also such a kind and generous thing to do.

He’s lucky to have you in his corner while he builds those friendships. 🫂💖

I'm sure it will turn out just fine. It will be a fun day for everyone - kids love new adventures, parties, and snacks! Try not to stress and typically it's a good idea to have a couple other adults there too, just to keep an eye on things and help out with whatever. Enjoy!

I still get intimidated by my son's parties. It isn't the easiest thing depending on how much you like to socialize. You will make it special and it's just one day, just a few hours. I hope you have fun.

That rule is bullshit
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@Prettybratbi1tch Yeah that'd be really expensive to have to provide food for 25 kids?!
chillout17 · 31-35, M
Every birthday we have been to like that only about half the class at best shows up.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@chillout17 Exactly! But, at least no one gets their feelings hurt not being invited. 🙂
The school rule isnt fair. What if he doesnt like all of them

That’s a weird rule!! Girl you’re gonna have a lotta work!!! But hopefully he will make new friends like you said
MellyMel22 · F
@Younameit They have that rule here too!

With every year, it becomes more bitter sweet 🥹🥹
That's a rather weird invitation rule. Is this common in the states?

You will do great, the fact that you worry about it tells me you worry to fail, but you won't. It's a kids party, they'll love it. What's not to like, cake, balloons some soda, their friends 😁

I don’t think the school can legally enforce that policy. All of em’? I think we maxed at about a dozen and I thought that was a lot.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@MethDozer That makes sense.
It’s not that serious. Ppl are like missing the point of my post. So what if I have to invite the whole class? @Adogslife
MethDozer · M
@soulrespite I think they are just curious how the school enforces it.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
I hope it's fun for him!

That rule doesn't actually sound very fair to me. Your boy better like all of his class mates
Wow, that's a crazy "rule" haha. One I'm sure no one would follow.
I think someone needs to have a little talk with the school about 'jurisdiction'.
@NudasPriest But if they must stick their noses in, I think what they should say is "if you want to invite more than say 8 from the class, then we'd like you to consider inviting all of them. We don't want just a few left out".
Who thinks up stupid rules like that? Ignore it, invite his friends.

How old is he going to be?
