I would say it's time to have a hard conversation. Either he respect you, and treat you as a mother should be treated, or he find a new place to live. No need to sugar coat it.
To be honest it surprises me how some kids talk and interact with their parents. When I was young I knew I'd get my ass whooped if I was disrespectful to my parents (or other adults for that matter). It seems society has really shifted how we treat one another. Unfortunately not for the better.... ☹
