some young people still have respect....

i happened to be on public transit the other day when a young lady offered me her seat...lol i'm in my early 50s but such a sweet gesture. i declined...but what really gets me are the young ones who don't offer their seat to those who need one. shame on you!

You never know what difficulties other people have. I’ve been grumbled at twice for not giving up my seat, one time I was still recovering from a badly broken leg so although out of plaster I had no strength in my ankle and couldn’t stand for long periods, let alone on a moving vehicle. Another time my diabetes was fucked and I was hypoglycaemic. The people grumbling at me appeared fit and healthy 50-60 year olds that were going on about respect. Entitlement goes both ways
@SW-User yes it does... but when theres a train packed with "kids" sitting and an elderly person gets on and not ONE of them offer a seat....pfft. i said one time..."not one of you youngsters are gonna offer a seat to this lady?...unfucking believable".... because i said that one of them did get up.

Don't judge the cover by its book. Young people have period cramps, are pregnant, have sore muscles from exercise, invisible pain or mental struggles that makes them need a seat too.
@Queendragonfly no...the point was they knew the bus was full. had she got on first she would have had a seat. but they butt in the line. it was mid day so kids didn't have to go to school. unfortunately my mom couldn't be bothered with "seniors taxi" cus it was a bit of a pain in the ass for her to organize even if i helped. i actually hated it when my mom took transit as i thought she'd always fall down. my brother and i would take her to her appointments when we could...but she's gone now so that doesn't matter anymore 😥

@beermeplease Ah I understand. Here they open the back door and the one with a walker can blip their card after they have got on board from the back. So no competition of space.

But I'm sorry it was a hazzle for her and that it didn't feel safe to let her go through transit. And I'm sorry for your loss 🙁❤️

I rarely stress to go on board if I see someone with a walker or stroller etc I wait to see if they need help to get on or off. But most manage fine on their own as the bus and trains have specific Ramps and can lower the entry so it's easy to get on.
@Queendragonfly actually our transit system is pretty top notch.... i live fairly close to the downtown core of vancouver and when me and my gang wanna party it up or head to a game of some sort then the train is a blessing.... nobody has to drive
Old age doesnt give entitlement.
