Should I be in trouble for not wanting to watch a movie that deals with religious belief in God?

My mom is mad at me for it and will take my phone for a week unless I watch it, meh it's just a week it won't kill me, but if I am uncomfortable going to church or watching these movies should t I get the choice to say no?

Since I really don't think it likely that your parent will listen to a bunch of strangers on the Internet, it doesn't really matter what I or anyone thinks here. When it comes to religious stuff, parents are usually very resistent to anyone who recommends that they not try to indoctrinate their children.

So I think you are stuck with the choice that's put before you. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it were me, I'd cave in and watch the film. But if it's a situation in which you have to watch this stuff daily, you might try to bring a sympathetic family member to plead your case. One argument the family member could make is that too much of this stuff will tend to make any young person rebel and reject these ideas totally.

Just watch, either be uncomfortable or imagine it's something else with a different soundtrack. Keep your phone.

i don't need my phone I know that already plus my dad will stop complaining about it I don't have to watch, your right about that though but nobody is truly on my side here if it's not god it's not life to them. But I find it halerious that their good family has so much wrong with it. I don't care to be honest it's just a thought on if it's correct to leave the situation as is

@ErinFrisk: You'll never get anywhere by arguing with them. But if you don't need the phone, don't watch the film. After all, I lived most of my life pretty well without a cell phone.

Parents should give their children the freedom to develop their own beliefs. Religion does no one any good if it's forced. I speak from experience on this.
You should get a choice religion is a choice so why is choosing to watch a religious film not a choice

If anything, watch the movie to make your parents happy but stay true to your beliefs in your heart. If she asks you what you think about the movie, give her an honest answer and if she doesnt like it, then tell her that those are your beliefs. She shouldnt judge you based on what you believe if she really loves you. ;)

Of course you should get the choice. She may be your mother, but she still doesn't have any right to force you to watch something that makes you uncomfortable.

You shouldn't have a choice to say no since you're what 13? 😊

You shouldn't have to if you don't want to.
