Who knows a lot about pre teen boys?

I have two older sons 11 and 13 that I try to understand but they both just tell me I wouldn't understand. I guess I just want a better connection and stronger bond with them.

It's normal for kids in their early teens, or preteen years to feel this way, whether they're boys, or girls. Just let them know that you're available if they need to talk.

Thanks

You need to talk to them the way that they feel comfortable, and choose the best time. You tell them that you can understand and just try you .. Well you must treat them like that because they are kids still

They'll come around. I gotta 12 year old and I only see him if he's hungry. It's like a puberty hibernation thing boys go through or something.

@Daniela27: I think with teenagers you need to let them know that you're there for them, always, no matter what. Its tough, they're becoming adults, in their own fashion and they're starting to experience things which at times can be a little scary, but if they know that you're there and that they have a strong foundation at home then they'll be able to have the proper foundations with which to experience that which is a little scary and a little new. I mean at that age they think every breakup, every social problem is the end of the world!! But if they know that no matter what they can come home, Mum will be there and you love them and if they're really in trouble that you'll help, then they'll be alright.

It's normal, don't worry. Even people in their teens do/say this.
