Have you ever been "mommyjacked?"

It's when you post something online and someone insists on hijacking the thread and making it about parenthood and about how noble and commendable they are for being a mother.

Ironic how they speak of parenthood but are glued to the screen 馃槀

EXACTLY. They treat their children like they're a witty accessory to their social media profile.

Not-so-fun fact, the average amount of time that passes between a child's birth and the first time one parent posts a photo of the child on Facebook is 53 minutes. FIFTY THREE FUCKING MINUTES. A child cannot even be alive for a full hour before their parent has to plaster their image all over the internet.

They think the whole world is interested in seeing their baby with snot on it's face added with some dumbass caption 馃槀
It is the hardest & most important job in the world --are parents not entitled to a few minutes on social media, if that is their way of taking a break?

@beckychandler: No, they're not entitled to shitposting all over other people's material for no reason whatsoever. People do it on things that are completely ridiculous. Yahoo had an article called "No Labor Labor Day Dishes" as in, easy to make party snacks for Labor Day, and it was mommyjacked by someone insisting it was offensive because "implying that there's no labor in labor is discriminatory to mothers who have given birth." She successfully turned an article about food recipes for a holiday into a rant about how offended she is that they didn't regard the word "labor" as only meaning pregnancy labor.

"you don't know anything"

motherhood is something to be very proud of -- however in the postmodern West it is counter-cultural to believe that it is. I can't comment on the particular person you are talking about. But motherhood is all consuming (although today we don't socially and economically allow it to be). Their web pages are really boring to most people --pictures of babies, talking about parenting problems, etc. So yes they will probably tend to "mommyjack" --but we should be a little patient --after all they are the only source of human life.

@beckychandler: Look, it doesn't matter what the subject is. Hijacking people's posts is a dickhead thing to do whether it's about motherhood or about French fries.
I am kind of tired and tired of your potty mouth --and since I am talking to a wall I am just going to bid you good nite

@BlueMetalChick: Beckychandler is a perfect example, she just did what your post speaks of. 馃槀

I gave you a proper response. What, you're going to ignore my reply and run off like a pussy? Something tells me this offends you on a very personal level. So, I shouldn't need to say this, but I guess I do. NEWS FLASH, THIS JUST IN: THE WORLD DOES NOT CARE THAT YOU'RE A MOTHER. Seriously, get over yourself because the rest of us don't give a fuck.
