My kid's mom found out about my gf

She's upset with me now. When she dropped our daughter off this morning we had to have a whole conversation where she was crying.. At one point, she told me shit like "I still thought we could make it work but you went behind my back & moved on without me" & I had to tell her "yeah I thought the same thing at the beginning of this year. You knew I wanted to get our next home together & how happy I was that we both made good money now & we can actually get a bigger house & live comfortable for once. But you got your own place a whole month before you moved out. Didn't tell me until the day before you moved, & my nice ass still did 80% of the work for you to move everything into your apartment just because I knew you couldn't do it alone with your mom & grandparents. None of them could lift heavy stuff so I did ALL of that. Even though I didn't have to & it wasn't my home."

So to tell me about all your hopes for us going down the drain... Trust me I know how that feels. I went through that already. It's not my fault that you only want me when I decide I'm seriously done. All that effort I put in while we were still together was unappreciated. We work opposite schedules & every day that you worked, I asked you what you wanted to eat so I can make it for you. I asked what I can do for you once you got home. If you were upset I bent over backwards trying to make you feel okay again. I massaged you for multiple hours if you were sore to the point I got really good at it. Music, candles, oil, everything. None of it was ever appreciated. I couldn't even get a massage myself no matter how much I asked. But I still did that for you because I cared.

I feel so bad that she's hurt right now but at the same time... This is what she wanted 😞 it's not my fault I had to figure all this out on my own. You left me with no choice. It's not fair that you expect me to still want you back & tell me I chose someone else over our family. You can't put that guilt on me. Even though I do feel bad, I'm not gonna push someone else away over someone who never showed me the love I deserved. I already did that once. You still didn't want me after & I ruined things with someone who genuinely loved me at the time. Luckily I'm friends with that girl again now which is awesome because we've been close ever since we were 11 or 12. But it taught me not to make that mistake again. So again... Not my fault you did all this to me & put me in a place where I had to move on.

She even told me how she was gonna ask me to move in with her but then I told her I got my own apartment.. I told her well... I wasn't gonna move in with you anyway. Mainly because my name wasn't on that lease. I'm not putting myself in that position where if you decide you don't want me again, you could just kick me out & I gotta go back to my dad's. I'm a grown ass man & I felt so pathetic having to be at my dad's even for those few months while I saved up. To be a grown man & not be able to put a roof over your child's head really fucking sucks. I did what I had to do. It's not my fault all this happened.

I'm just glad I can be honest about all this with my lady & she's so understanding. Even SHE feels bad for my kids mom because she understands how she feels.. & of course I do too.. but we also know how WE feel & yeah it's just faaar too late for my kid's mom to keep telling me she still wants me.
Ending things wasn't MY choice. She got what she wanted. I guess I'm sorry I didn't stay getting strung along. Idk

I am proud of you! For once, you have put yourself first. You deserve to be happy and loved wholeheartedly not half ass!

@Souls thank you 🥲 that's nice to hear. I feel like I've drawn boundaries for once & learned what I will accept & not accept. & Honestly I think that's something that comes with age as well. When I was younger I used to like older women because they already figured out what they want & won't put up with. Now I'm that age now too & I can finally relate 😭
What I have to say I'll say in a DM.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Threepio feel free. I suck at keeping up with messages but I'll get back to you

When she said -
She even told me how she was gonna ask me to move in with her
You gave the right response. Better one might have been, "Why? So you can throw me out again?'

But yeah when people say, "I was going to (do someone whatever favor.)" typically that is just some kind of manipulation. In general when people say that, a good response is, "No you wasn't you layin' 4ss n***a!"

But yeah she was the one that ended it, why she be getting bent out of shape if you found a new 4ss to tap?

About the only thing you can do is avoid unnecessary contact with her because some split couples spend literally the rest of their lives arguing about stuff.

My step-dad and biological mom did that; they are probably still fighting on the other side of life.
I hope it all works out well for you

Yeah it wasn't you who went out the door. That's the part that makes it hard to reconcile. I have no idea why but I got a phone call from my 2nd ex 3 years later and I was not even listening. I could tell things didn't go well for her and she was looking for a wallet and nothing else. I said a few words reminding her how she got there. She didn't care to face the truth. Haven't heard from her since.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Gibbon yeah, I took her back the first time she broke things off & she only tried because I told her I was done that time too. As soon as I started trying again, she didn't want me anymore. It's so backwards I just don't understand it. Idk why she only wants me when I'm done, but when I try it's a turn off 🤷 I just don't get it. She told me it's because me saying I'm done makes her realize she doesn't wanna lose me. But honestly she should feel that way the whole time. Not only decide that she wants me when I'm over it.

Sounds like that ex was probably doing her rounds hitting up any ex she could though
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@ChiefJustWalks I think it's a Posssiveness in your case. She walked out on her own, but she didn't really let go. You made it easy for her to come back originally if she wanted to.. But she was feeling her wings.. That's tough to deal with.

The worst thing you can do to a bad person is give them what they want. Their whole existence depends on them not getting it.
Reject · 31-35, M
@ChiefJustWalks I’m not convincing you of anything. I can’t do that. It’s not up to me. I just believe something very simple, we’re all bad people right up until we acknowledge that. It’s not personal. I don’t call anyone a good person. I think that just gives us the freedom to be a bad one. Sin never sleeps. It waits for you to. So the battle against it is lifelong. There is no being a good person. There’s only preventing all the things proving you’re a bad one.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Reject that's understandable & I can accept that. I've always felt like I wasn't a good person up until recently. But yeah that was after acknowledging that I don't think I was a good person in my past. I may have had a good heart but not all the things I did were good & there was a lot I didn't know or understand yet. Idk. I think we're all just people. Good or bad. I believe in a balance of both anyway
Reject · 31-35, M
@ChiefJustWalks Just be careful Chief. Every time I made a mistake came from any moment I felt like I was being a good person or doing the right thing. I’m not saying that’s you, but it was certainly me.

Everything is a partnership when you have children.

But you can't have one party deciding what's best without consulting and taking into account the needs of the other.
And that sounds like what she's often doing.

It’s always rough with the other parent when they’re little especially.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@MellyMel22 yeah it's not easy. Luckily she's a good mom. I'm a good dad. I think we'll be okay in the long run & I have faith in our ability to coparent. But yeah it's not easy to go through especially since it's all new to me
MellyMel22 · F
@ChiefJustWalks I think it’s normal. But it can def be frustrating at times.
RebelRaven · 51-55, F
Good for you setting and keeping that boundary with her. You’re right, this IS what she wanted, honestly it’s manipulating to say what she’s saying now.

You’re new lady is awesome. 💜
AverageMuslim · 26-30, M
My old friend

This pain is a wound I can't fathom

But I trust you made the right decision and guilt sometimes is the only mover in someone's life. You need someone moved by love

This world is too cold for greed
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@AverageMuslim I hope you don't ever have to go through it. It's hard. & It sucks. I feel bad over it at times but yeah I just feel so much love with my current gf. I've never had anything like it before. Like it reminds me of how I felt with my first love as a kid except we never actually got together officially. She was actually the girl I was with at the end of last year & beginning of this year. I even told her afterwards how I've never felt anything like her & she told me "I think you'll find it again" so lately I'm like damn she was right.
SumKindaMunster · 56-60, M
Bro, you are Neo in "The Matrix" You have dodged many bullets from this deranged person. It's a shame you had a kid with her.

Live your life and move on. You have no reason to feel any sort of shame or guilt here.
I’ll respond more to this privately but I’m so proud of you. You deserve to be happy and your new girl is good for you 🤗

@Quimliqer thanks man

I see what type of person she is. I don’t feel bad for her one bit. I kinda want to beat her ass actually?

Anyway I won’t say too much because you obviously still love her.

never go back.
