Teaching my kids how to stay under a budget while including tax is… fun…

I gave my kids each $10 to spend on anything they wanted (excluding basic necessities like food or things like that because it’s my job to provide that for them)

Took them to the store and spent a good hour and a half watching them figure out what they could get with their money while staying in their budget..

My older two picked a couple board/card games that happened to be on sale

My two middle children picked out 2 Barbie’s each

My youngest got 4 new little people “Barbie’s”

They all succeeded in this challenge with little to no help from me in doing the math (the only one who really needed the help was my youngest because she’s 2 and doesn’t quite understand) they even did the math themselves with paper and a pencil

I would do that with mine and I do that with grandkids. My boys would buy junkfood and the girls were always more practical
