Guys!! Look what I got my 6 year old for Christmas (this is only one thing it’s not the only thing)

Yeah I did get her a cooking book for 2 reasons..

1. It’s Dolly and she absolutely loves Dolly

2. Kids need to learn how to cook things and I’ve always started my kids helping in the kitchen and with simple chores once they could walk (obviously only simple things like pouring measured out ingredients in the bowl at that age and I’m always right there)

Anyways she’s going to love it she loves to cook with me

That's awesome. When she's older consider Youtube vids. My daughter had good luck with them. Learned to make incredible carrot cake, pho (Vietnamese broth dish) from them.

It's mischievous of me, but I'm smiling at the thought of how messy a 6 year old might get trying to make either of those cakes shown in the illustration! 🤣 Hope you both have loads of fun 😊

@JackDaniels I literally stopped right in my tracks once I saw it when I was at the store looking for what my son wanted for his birthday there was only one left I had to get it for her

Almost as messy as a fingerprinting kit. At least you can eat it, maybe.
My Dad started teaching me how to cook on my fifth birthday in 1975, with pancakes, over 50 years later I am a serious home gourmet and love to cook, you can see some of my recipes with my pinned posts, and here...

@NativePortlander1970 it’s an important life skill
@MommaBear That it is, children who learn to cook early in life are more creative and confident as they get older.
