My toddler has hit the “no!” Phase..

Her: *hits her sibling*
Me: no ma’am we don’t hit can you tell them you’re sorry and give them a hug
Her: no! *grabs toy and hits sibling with toy*
Me: okay let’s go to time out then
Her: No!
😐 obviously I didn’t let her get away with it but the no phase is so fun… not 🙄

Also we are working on teaching her gentle hands but she’s stubborn so it’s taking awhile

One of my sons used to regularly sit down on the floor and refuse to walk. Likewise he would also stiffen himself straighter than an ironing board when I tried to put him in a buggy or the supermarket trolley. Eventually, I found singing loudly in front of everyone was what worked. He was so willful but he hated that so would get up to avoid embarrassment lol. I often used to be singing 'The sun has got his hat on' in the supermarket aisles whilst other bemused shoppers with perfect well behaved kids looked on in amusement. It was a battle that went on for several years, in the end I just used to say "if you're going to sit on the floor, I'm going to sing, tap dancing too." Lol, I have three boys, this is parenting hack number 27 just for you and sent with love. You've got this! 💪💪💪

@MommaBear yeah, at that age a lot of it is just normal development and distraction is what works.
