Is it hard as a grandparent to understand that you don't have much say in how a grandchild is raised?

Why do some grandparents think they have a parental right to tell their children and their children- in-law how to raise their families?

Is it hard to remember that they had their time when they raised their own?

My mother is one of those who thought she had a right to tell my stepsisters how to raise their kids, as well as telling my older brothers how to raise theirs. My youngest stepsister told her to shut her mouth when her older son was about a year old back in 1985, when my mother demanded my stepsister to do something a certain way, I forget what, but it pissed her off, bad.
