My daughter refuses to take any cough/cold medicine unless it tastes like a grape lolly

I've bought her two different brands of mixture suitable for children and she refused both, claiming she prefers to be unwell.

I told her it's complete bullshit to treat medicines like they have to taste like lollies in order to be acceptable because it's their function not their taste that matters.

Anyway she has had a persistent cough since I've had her with me (last 4 nights) , and is going on an all-day excursion tomorrow, and will just have to cope as she'll still refuse to have any cough medicine I offer her.

She reckons only her mum has the 'correct' cough medicine. I couldn't find any that she claims she likes at both of the local pharmacies.

Try giving her a popsicle/ ice lolly first (the cold will numb her taste buds) then giver her the medicine with a reward after.

Ugh, the guilt, eh? No fun. Good luck.
