Gotta love a core memory

I'm in the car with my 18 year old son and Wrecking Ball comes on the radio. He chuckles and shares a "core memory" of this song. He was 9 or 10 and at a sleepover at his friend's house. At some point, the friends watch the video for Wrecking Ball - the friend being explicitly forbidden by his mother to do so. The friend later got punished for it.

I was like - wait. He got punished for watching a music video? Wait. What?

We pull up the video. Miley's riding a wrecking ball, at times naked, at times in a tank top and undies. At no point do we see any reproductive bits of course, but it's provocative. Sure.

I wasn't there and I don't know what discussions she had with her son when punishing him. But did this woman think she was protecting her son from online porn? If you ask me, punishing a young boy for looking at a woman's body is a good way to create a life-long pervert.

What do you think?

@NativePortlander1970 Cool. same actually.
@Fallflower My mother retired as a church secretary, she had the job so she could be in church every day, from the ages of seven to sixteen I was forced to read the holey buy bull from cover to cover each and everg yesr, she got my older brothers and myself our own copies of the one year buy bull.

Properly read, the bible is the main cause of Atheism. - Sir Isaac Asimov
