In the case of children still living in the home, parents often think it’s best to stay together for the sake of the children. But many times that’s not true. Certainly wasn’t for my parents. I was relieved when they finally did get divorced but by then I was out of the house and the damage had been done to us all.

Thats the problem with marriage. Two people from different backgrounds having to live together for life. There are so many differences between members of the same family, so how much more when it is a marriage.

Getting divorced means restarting their lives again, I mean my parents hated each other but it's easier to be comfortably miserable than to go venturing into the unknown.

I think many people are in a power struggle in marriages.

Do they argue every day or just occasionally?
