How do you parent yourself out of your kid?

Conversation with my 6 year old:
Me: it’s time to get ready for bed
Her: no I want to play
Me: no it’s time to get ready for bed now
Her: well I want to play
Me: okay either get ready for bed or go to time out
Her: well..
Me: well nothing
Her: WELL…
😐 I can’t even be mad because she’s literally me

My children would never say no to me. The 1st time they did would be their last. Because i would correct it right then and there.
