An example of mom trying to convince me she loves me
She told me this when I was in my early 20's:
"You know, when you and your sister were very small I considered having CPS take you for a while so I could focus on your younger sister, but I decided against it bc I was afraid they wouldn't give you back to me when I was ready."
That's how I found out why I spent every other weekend at her best friends house. I knew no normal parent would send me on playdates for a full weekend even when I didn't want to go.
