Were your parents strict when you were growing up?

I would say that I grew up in a pretty strict and religious household. My parents, dad especially, were the old school "spare the rod, spoil the child" type like how their parents raised them, if you get what I mean.

I can't say that they were strict unless it was necessary. They were generally permissive unless my brother and I got out of line. Really, some old school but maybe a more forward-looking approach.
