Why do new mums go nuts?

Because they're sleep deprived, isolated and feel trapped.

Cabin fever is real. Attempting to translate an untranslatable language is frustrating. All the while you know the moment they settle and you move to go and do something they will wake again...

That half an hour to an hour of time spent attempting to settle the baby for a 2 minute break really isn't cutting it!

If like me you have an unemployed forgetful partner, it makes things 10 x. Since you're together 24/7 and there's additional work to be done, spending your time cleaning up after him.

Yup. I've lost a lot of steam being mom. I'm happy to do it, but it takes its toll.

@MarbleMarvel I'm sorry Hun. It is tiring... I hope that things start to get easier for you. Or you get more support. It's a thankless task and I hate saying this because there's a stage when you want a child. But it doesn't stop you from being human.

Sounds like that partner needs to wake up and step up

He has to step up, especially if he's unemployed. Step up & grow up.

@ineedadrink he has "stepped up" he's become the primary care giver and I'm secondary... ATM I pretty much just feed and clean up after him. He sends me to bed because he says I need to rest.

But actually if ever I want to pick up the baby he already has him in his arms.
I'm yet to go out alone with my child but he will happily take him on walks.

I'm sure you'll say just talk to him but actually it's harder said than done...
