Long Distance Parenting

Even though she isn't in the direct path of this latest hurricane my kid is still on the west coast of FL and that has my blood pressure up a bit. Her's too, honestly. This day two years ago she went cross state to dodge one. Where she went to lost power whilst her apartment didn't. 😅

I'm in the panhandle almost at the Alabama line. It's not even raining yet. Might get breezes and a sprinkle as it stands right now

Hope she does well

@Pretzel Thanks. She's got supplies and is staying put.

@Pretzel They are saying it will be a cat 2 when it makes landfill in the panhandle. If you can head west I would.

@Musicman it is headed in to the big bend area which is A couple of hundred miles away. Winds shouldn't get above 40 mph on a gust and little to know rain.

If I was in Tallahassee...I wouldn't be for long

@Pretzel I believe it. I saw video of people evacuating Tampa yesterday. Rt 4 looked like a giant parking lot.

@Musicman yeah the best time to leave 😃 s two or three days out. I had some people that tried to outrun a hurricane the day of and they got stuck on the interstate with tornadoes in the area.

If you are leaving the day before you might as well just hunker down

@Pretzel Exactly.

@Pretzel @ineedadrink We are hunkering in and watching TV. Fortunately we still have electricity and Internet. 🙂

@Musicman looks like it may bypass ta.pa and St Pete and just beat up appalachicola and Tallahassee

@Pretzel Hopefully it misses you.
