Goals make us better...or quitters lol

They say if you want to do something, you'll find a way. And if you don't want to, you'll find an excuse. It's so true. I NEED to find a way.

I'm thinking about revamping my entire daily routine and habits. I know it will be exhausting for a bit, but if you think of it as starting a new job and knowing that you'll get used to it eventually it's not quite as intimidating. I remember my last job, it took me a couple months to adjust to the extended hours and for my muscles to get used to everything they suddenly had to do. After a while, it was a breeze though! Just a big adjustment.

My perfect day with these kids wouldn't be nearly as hard on my body lol. Of course, I'm already used to chasing and keeping up with this kind of crazy, so it's easy to say that. lol. Keeping my sanity is the hard part here. 😂 And honestly, there is NO job more important than this task of raising my children, providing them the childhood they deserve, and ensuring their futures with everything they need now. And ya know, it IS hard, but it doesn't last forever. In a blink they'll be all grown up and we'll be reflecting back on their memories and what kind of mother I was. I don't want there to be anything I regret or wish I'd done more of. I know there will always be SOMETHING, but there is a peace in knowing you did your best and gave it all you had. Besides, if you're going to do something, you might as well do it right. Oh goodness...my mother is pouring out of me here lol. "If you're going to do something you might as well do it right." Well, she was right. lol.

That's another thing that's been weighing on me too though...if you have to do something, you might as well do it with a smile or some grace. I mean, it's going to be handled either way, and I know I'd prefer to have some composure rather than regret the way I snapped or whatever. Showing your irritation doesn't help a thing. It's hard some days, when you're hearing MOM for the 500th time and all you're trying to do is just finish making lunch before the baby starts crying again. lol. I saw either here or on FB earlier that that's what kids are here for, to teach us patience. It really is so true. They can absolutely make us lose our ever-loving minds haha, or we can learn to be a bit more patient. How? Don't ask me, I haven't figured that out yet haha. But I have learned, it's much easier to stay calm by staying calm than it is to get back to calm once you've let all those emotions start spewing out. :P

Anywho...I'm going to add a rough schedule or some ideas for what my ideal day would look like, but I can't at this moment. Sooo, I'll come back to this when I'm able! (typical mom quote said infinitely every day lol)

I will add some simple goals for tomorrow though, just to hold me accountable.
-laundry and meal prep while my daughter is at VBS
-Schedule dentist appt
-Schedule hair appt
-pharmacy for son
-kids baths
-20 minutes pilates
-start planning bday party
-make frozen toys with baking soda for science fun activity
-rocket ship and tummy time activity time
-pump after kids are asleep
-plan camping date
-make a list of things I admire to my husband that I can keep adding to

This reminds me so much of my sister who has a 5- and 2-year-old. Lol. Especially the “science fun.” Kids make learning fun. 🥰

Those are great goals. I think lots of little targets are more realistic than a rigid routine in your super-important role as CEO of Family Inc. 🤗

@Jimbo1 I think the phrase is directed more toward little things. Like, if you want to start a new hobby you'll find a way rather than make excuses. I'm only talking about daily habits and lifestyle in this post. It's supposed to be inspirational lol. Mostly for myself.

Apathy certainly always seems to look for an excuse.

Anyway, I'm off to bed. Toodles!
