Why are some parents so insane?!?!?

My kid went to her friend’s house for a playdate after school. I just picked her up and on the drive home she told me she got to set off fireworks in the backyard with her friend and friend’s big (11yr old) brother! 😳😳😳😳😳😳

WTF!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯

I don’t even light candles at home until after she’s in bed…….. 🤬🤬🤬

I think I'd have a chat with those parents. That's idiotic!

I had a crazy uncle who did likewise when I was six at a forth of July street party. Firecrackers & bottle rockets.

Cross that friend's house off the list of safe places to go for playdates.

My brother in law, at 6 years old had his own pocket knife and stache of fireworks he could light off whenever he wanted. which is ludicrous
He's almost 40 now and still has all his fingers and toes. Oddly his boys did not get those things so young.
not everyone lives like you. It's something you need to embrace and realize that it doesn't make it wrong. but understandable that it scares you.

@nonsensiclesnail Some people are lucky I guess. I know 3 guys with injuries from fireworks, one is blind in one eye. Another has scarring from burns. All from letting them off unsupervised as kids.
Definitely wrong in my eyes to let someone else’s kid do that at your house 😬😬😬😬

Ahahaha..

That’s very irresponsible of them … glad she’s ok

That's definitely normal where I live lol. Guess I'll write it off as cultural differences 😂

@AmmieBell Same lol. I have to assume this is a Suburban area where people are often against fireworks.
popmol · 26-30, M
they better be talking about those glow up sticks and not actual rockets
Raffiki · 22-25, F
@popmol unfortunately not!

They’re having fun darling 🌹

That's awesome. I started my nephew at 5 with smoke bombs and little fountan cones. His seventh summer I gave him a lit punk and his first fistful of bottle rockets.

Many kids sadly don't get enjoy these things in our bubble wrapped world.

@MethDozer That’s a risk your family are willing to take I guess. My kid can enjoy a lot of other stuff that doesn’t involve getting potentially life changing injuries 😐😐😐

@Raffiki Don't be lame.
