My vote isnt up there.. umm.. this is kindof a strange thing for a grown adult to admit.. but.. i am typically a third shift kind of person.. i sleep better during the day.. i stay hypervigilant at night so in truth, i don't think i ever got over my fear of the dark.. i sleep better knowing someone else is awake and paying attention.. i took the role of the nightwatch and i take it very seriously. My case may not be typical but it takes all kinds. I have stopped three robberies in my life, saved a few animals, (possibly humans too), witnessed things noone else did because they were sleeping.. i guess what i am trying to say is that some of us don't ever stop being afraid of the darkness.. and those like me.. well.. we learn to defend ourselves and our loved ones from the thing that goes bump in the night. Some people can sleep through the night comfortably. I like knowing that i am the reason they can do so safely.
