I was terribly afraid of the dark when I was younger, we lived in a very rural area, there were no street lights and really not very many porch lights. when the sun went down, it was as dark as a Grimm's Fairy Tale. I eventually got over being afraid of the dark by being in the dark. Playing outside, camping with my older brother or night fishing. Eventually it was just okay for it to be dark.

@Roadsterrider how old were you when you first went camping or night fishing?

@Mindful About 4 or 5, my oldest brother was 22 years older than I was, he took me camping and fishing. Eventually I got the idea that the same things were out there in the dark as there was in the daylight.
