So I just got home from work and my son texted me

He was having a crisis the other day because “none of his dreams will make money”.

He’s 11.

So putting aside the cruelty of a society that puts that burden on a little kid thinking about their future and their dreams…I told him to just do it anyway and worry about money some other way. Write, draw, make music, do your thing and forget what everyone else pretends has value.

So he texted me some lyrics today. They’re full of profanity, I’m not dumb enough to think they don’t hear it everywhere but it was a shock to see my little guy writing them.

But they’re also full of symbolism and word play and doubles…”everyone obsessed with making dough for mint cookies” cause the mint is where they make all the money…

Little guy was speaking some truth. But also the cussing is hard to deal with

I guess…I’m grumpyproud.

I feel so sorry for children his age. Their future is a wasteland dystopia. Swearing is the least of anyone's worries.
