Why are parents sometimes mean to their kids?
You teach us to be nice but you’re the opposite of nice to us? Why? I feel like parents are stricter and more firm and stern with autism kids.
One of my teachers said to me that parents are “mean” because they care and love us. Sometimes moms and dads kind of HAVE to be mean because at times you’re probably not hearing them, disrespecting them and they make you work and take responsibility. Parents that let their kids do what they want and too “nice” don’t care. Sometimes when you guys aren’t hearing them out, they have to yell or be “mean” to get their point across. They’re preparing you for me life abs being nice doesn’t always get the work done.”
