Well I didn't have a cell phone until I was 29 or so. They weren't around much when I was younger
HijabaDabbaDoo · F
They didn't check my phone at all but my dad occasionally tried to punish me by taking my phone away. Only because I was always late for school lmao but I would always end up finding his hiding spot anyway.

I never had a cell phone growing up, didn't get one until I was in my 30's when my wife (then girlfriend) gave me one for Christmas. It was not beyond my mother to listen in on the extension when I was talking to someone though...I always heard when she picked it up.
Never. That is just weird.

I don't buy them smartphones until I trust their judgement. No point in giving them something they haven't earned and then using it to control them.

Never checked my kids phone. The rule was you get privacy until you give me a reason to not trust. All worked out and didn't need to check.

Heather2000 · 22-25, F

My kids got phones for their 17th birthday, and we never checked them...
maturedragon · 26-30, M

ronisme1 · 61-69, M
Do you do anything on it that they would not approve of?
DaddyThomas · 46-50, M

ViciDraco · 41-45, M
I didn't have my first phone until after I had moved out, so that was easy
Bushmanoz · 61-69, M
I think once you hit 18 is should stop, you are technically an adult
