Family you don't hear from
How do y'all handle a family member who you hear from only when they want something.

I don't know your situation. Yet with me it worked both ways. If you don't reach out to them, don't ask about them, don't invite them and make them apart of the family, instead of a second class acquaintance, then why should they bother?

@Linne5 Both my parents were dead before I broke it off from my half siblings.
I am the only one of four that would take care of either of mine and their parents before they past on.
My father I can understand, he wasn't their father. Our mother though I don't!
Now the eldest half sister is dead and the other two didn't bother to tell me, nor did any of my 8 nieces or nephews. I found out through ancestry.com six months ago that she was dead 5 years ago. 🤷🏻♂️
My eldest half sisters eldest son is on ancestry.com. He knows I am there just as I know he is there. Ancestry.com notifies you when someone on your family tree is on their tree.
Nothing has changed. 😔

@NativeOregonian lol. Don't worry I no longer have anything else to do with them. I have my own family now. A husband and kids and my parents so I don't want them in my life.

I have family like that and I usually say what do you want this time, the only time you come around or call is if you want something, I guess I shame them, but it stops for a good while
