For once my abusive dad didn't beat me..and my mom didn't mentally tortured me..
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@wallflowerguy I am sorry. Evil is always here. It’s unfair that anyone should see it in their parents.

I miss my mother's sense of humor. She loved the birds and they loved her. They would always greet her when she came outside. Some would eat from her hand.

Her favorite was the male cardinal. Today a male cardinal sat on a branch just outside my window and stayed there for several minutes.

That made me smile and think of her.

@trackman11 😲 That could end badly
@trackman11 @SweetMae 😯 oh geez! 🙈

😄 Ok, I see the urgency there ...
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@SweetMae it actually ended with some white cat fur around his den, but fortunately the cat showed up intact and hopefully a little wiser?

We have two cats who are indoor/ outdoor coexisting with nature. They rule mice, moles and rabbits, sadly an occasional bird ( my cats are truly serial killers) but groundhogs, coyotes, foxes, deer and the occasional wolf are to be avoided at all cost! Lol
My Mom and I did so many things together: ice shows, craft shows. Scrabble every week..

I had amazing parents also.

@JustLikeGreta oh Greta! Don’t be so sure mom wasn’t letting you win. Sounds like she loved you very much. My moms game was canasta and She won. I only had to let her win once. Near the end she just couldn’t concentrate.
@trackman11 Never thought of that. Mom did New York Times crossword puzzles in ink 🙂 I let her win once.

Try the wordscapes app, it’s a fun word scramble game. @JustLikeGreta
My dad... all I can say is, he was my hero and he died too soon
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@Somewhereovertherainbow you’re welcome. My heart is heavy for your loss. I think my daughter might feel the same some day.
@trackman11 I hope not for a very long time
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@Somewhereovertherainbow thank you. Too much on my “to do” list to leave anytime soon. That was very kind. 🙂
My mom made hot chocolate for me once on a rainy day.
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@Spoiledbrat warmth. It leaves a memory. I hope it wasn’t too rare.
That's exactly how my Dad was. Missing him...💙 And I think I'm a lot like him.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Vivaci He must have touched many lives in a very special way.
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@Vivaci is the story on here?
@SweetMae Yeah, service above self is what he advocated. 💞💞
My recently deceased mother returning from doing someone’s hair totally sozzled. They were on the sherry all afternoon.
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@TheSirfurryanimalWales wow. Did you get to see what that hair looked like after? 😀
@trackman11 she always said she didn’t have a clue how she managed to finish doing her clients hair.
My dad....he was the all-American boy type....
and a good dad... taught us the difference of right
from wrong...
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@Experienced33 you won the parent lottery. Men like your dad are a treasure 🙂
pentacorn · F
going clamming with my dad, and all the cookouts.
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@pentacorn sounds like an awesome adventure with your dad.
pentacorn · F
@trackman11 it really was...
Magenta · F
It's not just one thing, but nearly everything about my mother. The class act nurturing woman she was, etc.. I wrote a short "thanksgiving" story but haven't posted it.
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@Magenta I look forward to reading it. Sounds like a wonderful mom. 🙂
SW-User
none they’re pathetic
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@SW-User I’m sorry. Questions like this are kind of a double edged sword. I have one that was close to your description.
SW-User
@trackman11 nah I’m not offended lol just wanted to speak for those like me
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@SW-User glad you did your majesty. There are many who had your experience. Parents are born, not molded and sometimes, well, you know. 🙂
