Have you ever had a family member try to use gifts as emotional blackmail?

My mother-in-law loves to do this! She only gives out money and gifts to the grandkids that come to see her when she snaps her fingers. The other ones get nothing. Nice grandma huh? 😕

she sounds terrible! I hope they know not to think anything of her actions.
My mother in law likes to have conversations with her grandkids about 'what a waste of time high school is and how they don't teach you anything anyhow. you may as well drop out.'

I just remind my kids that no one wants a gift with strings attached anyway. It isn't much of a gift, is it?
