I love being a Auntie and have the best nephew and nieces. love them so much that they make me want to have children of my own, that is till i babysit them for the weekend and realise how exhausting they are haha
I have a niece ... who my husband and I ultimately adopted . She’s a sweet little girl , lived through a pretty rough patch , but is starting to be a normal happy child again . Aunt Susan is still my name ... 🤷🏻♀️
@PlumBerries I wanted a daughter , but could only have one child of my own . She and I went shopping and got our hair and nails done .,, pure girls day ... and she loved it . Lots of questions ... but she had fun
I am a Godmother if that counts..The only thing I really look forward to..I love the responsibility and children :) Also hears this alot "yeah but you give them back" lol
Yep, when I lived back home in the South, I was the Aunt who told stories about history to the nieces and nephews. They were always asking me for more of 'em. I have one posted in my story area "The rant that backfired."
@SW-User yeah I know what you mean.. feels like yesterday I was trying to figure out how to change their nappies without gagging and today they wanna talk about boys and make up or video games and stuff
I'm an uncle of six and it's the same as you. It's fun looking after them for a bit but when it's a whole day, I wonder how parents manage to stay sane.
@PlumBerries Haha, luckily the eldest nieces are 17 and 18. The worry there is keep roving packs of teenage boys away from the house. A jet washer hose comes in handy!
Yeah, I have a nephew. Love the little bugger, but he has an energy level waaaay beyond mine.
Every time I visit, I end up consistently falling asleep while sitting on the couch... every single day. Then I come home and have little trouble staying awake.
It is nice for a few hours, but it also reaffirms my choice to never have kids.
