Are you closer with your mother's side of the family or your father's?

The only relative I felt really close to was my Grandmother on my mother's side, my Grandfather passed away when I was 9 and I didn't have a real chance to really get to know him well. All others on that side I really don't know and only briefly met some of them. I am not close to anyone on my dad's side, they are just the type of people that they don't have much of anything to do with you (don't even acknowledge you) unless there is something they want. My mom's Mother passed away in 2005, my parents have always pushed me to the side in favor of their other adopted son, There is no relationship between me and my adopted "brother" so actually there is no one in my family from either side that I am close to.

Definitely dad's. Mom is an only child and all her cousins and aunts/uncles are in Germany.

My mother's adoptive side of family and I still wouldn't call that "close." All facets of my family are toxic and vulture like.

I’m closest to one remaining cousin on my father’s side, although I do occasionally talk with cousins on my mother’s side, too.
