What is the biggest family you ever knew?

My parents were friends with a family that had 21 children. None adopted. All were single births. I remember the Mom having bags under her eyes and constantly looking tired. Their house always had the washing machine running.

You're describing my worst nightmare. Forget about the boogeyman. A house bursting at the seams with too many snotty noses and me responsible for all of them, is the scariest fecking thing in the world to me.

I know someone who was one of 21 children. Same situation as you've described, no twins, no adoptions. Just very tired good Catholics.

@smileylovesgaming Oh, there is no doubt in my mind that parents with so many children have the older ones take on the parental duties for the younger ones. Growing up, we didn't have a houseful of children but I still had to take on a lot of the parental duties. TBH, I resented it.
