Ask him what happened, then ask the staff. If he was bit or pushed by another child then they should have told you about it, but they also need to have it documented and recorded. If they don't tell you or refuse to tell you anything then take it to the manager/centre director. Children's safety should always be their highest priority. It's possible that maybe he just fell and they didn't know there was bruising as toddlers/preschoolers can just bump themselves on anything and everything, but it is definitely worth checking out and following up even for your own peace of mind. You need to feel comfortable that you're leaving him in safe hands and somewhere that he feels safe!
